Malaysia Love Unlocked iPhones Long Time

Unlocked iPhone 8GB (1.1.1) with Digi, just perfick

Okay, the guesses are in, and yes, it's for me.
So I have been recently blessed with an iPhone. The short?

If you've been following my life, you would know that I gave her an iPhone for her birthday last month. How did I get it? Well my uncle was on a business trip to New York and it was really a no brainer to ask him to get one on the way back.

I've been planning this for months. Really wanted to give something special to Joyce for her 21st, but I didn't know whether it was possible to get an iPhone this year. I even started thinking of getting an iPod Touch, but it never came close to the specialness. So when I found out that he was there *boom* sms flies out! But he only found out it was actually a gift later.

When he found out about my 'self sacrificial' act (cheh), he ordered another one for me secretly, which I found out much later. Probably the second most romantic thing someone did for me this year. Maybe he thought that I was dying inside not being able to have an iPhone or sumfing, but whatever it was, it just goes to show that I give off that Applish vibe a little too much. People might be thinking that I'm addicted - not to crack or weed or meth or whatever - but to mac, which is kinda sad cause then I would just end up being a geek to some people.

So that's the story if anyone's wondering, and no, me having an iPhone doesn't change a single thing. I'm still your friend =D

My Big Fat Hard Disk and Leopard

Last week, after getting Leopard with the rest, I felt the strong need to buy another external hard disk. Not just because to use Time Machine with, but also because space on my other externals was getting tighter. Oh, and dealing with video work demands lots of space as well.

It was so tempting... what started out as a harmless rombongan to Low Yat with Jonathan to help him get a new hard disk for his Macbook, turned into me splurging on this baby down here. The Western Digital My Book Pro 500GB with Triple Interface.

Yes, TRIPLE INTERFACE! I finally have a Firewire 800 external hard disk and it is just superb!

The front and side shots: the round circles lights up when it's turned on

From the top: 1 Firewire 400, 2 Firewire 800 and 1 USB port.

The desk from left to right: Macbook Pro, 400GB 3.5" external, 60GB 2.5" external and the My Book Pro 500GB

This picture signifies that I have moved to Leopard successfully! Installed it over the weekend

Why a picture of my old but still in good condition n70? Sentimental reasons. To be continued in my next post

How To Change Your Header In New Blogger

This post is dedicated to Odie

With the new blogger, you don't need to mess around with complicated html or css to get change your blog's header. It only takes 2 easy steps and your finished design.

Step 1

First, you go into your blog's dashboard and click layout. You'll see something like the above picture. The long rectangle at the top labeled (your blog's name)(header) is the thing you should be looking out for. Click on edit

Step 2

Then a new window will open that looks exactly like the above. From here, you can either upload a picture from your computer by clicking on browse or put in the link to your picture if you have already uploaded it to your favorite image host (photobucket, imageshack, allyoucanupload, picasa web etc etc).

Wait for the picture to pop up in the box before clicking on save changes, and immediately your blog will have that new canggih banner of yours that you spent hours designing.

Die MSN Die! [UPDATE]

I've been using Skype recently and now that the Mac and Windows versions work with each other so well, I'm beginning to like it very much.

Normal chat, video Chat, audio Chat, clean interface by default, unlike the stupid MSN messenger that the whole of asia seems to love so much. I used to video chat with she, and it was a horrendous experience... You know they've gone too far when you have even ads in your contact list! and don't get me started on how cluttered and ugly the chat window is...

Well, if you use Windows, and never heard of Skype before, please go and try it out. If you already have a skype account (I most probably don't have yours), please give it to me somehow.

My dream is for all of us to just stop using MSN and start using real quality chatting programs like Skype! I have 2 words for all of you that are still not sure about it... COOOME OOON~~! nyehnyehnyehnyehnyehnyeh

[UPDATE] Ok everyone, I think I have to make myself clearer. I'm still using MSN, but if you guys have a Skype account, do let me know, or search for Joshua Chay. My Skype contact list is quite empty =P

Decepticons Fight Back! with the amazing power of MP3

Some of you fellow Transformers fans would realize that the latest Michael Bay movie doesn't really do justice to the Transformers universe. There are not just 5 Autobots or Decepticons, Megatron is not that easy to kill and Optimus Prime is not that wimpy!

Anyway... remember the Decepticon, Sound Wave? The dude with the tape player for a chest and could spurt out 2 mini Decepticons that would transform into a wolf and another a bird? He was like the undercover guy that would be able to infiltrate the Autobots and find out what they were up to, like if Prime was having a major headache.

Okok... whats the whole point of this post? Its to say a big dumb-blond-OMG to this new MP3 player that, dare I say, kicks all of my iPods assess! Its Sound Wave, instead of the tapes, he plays MP3s now. You can put an SD Card into his chest for all the music, and best of all, he still transforms. If I could get one, I would. Clicky

The Price That I'm Willing To Pay For A Genuine Microsoft Vista Business Edition (UPDATEDx2)

RM 5 is the max. And it seems that someone from Microsoft must be reading my mind cause thats exactly what I'm paying for a bona fide Windows Vista Business Edition. How you ask?

I was talking to a friend today, who happened to move in to KDU just when I was leaving, and told me that Microsoft was promoting their new OS at college since Friday. Told me something about Home Basic going for RM 50. That is one hell of a deal considering its retail price is RM 700+

I grabbed the phone and immediately dialed Hana's mobile. We used to be classmates and she's a Microsoft Ambassador now at KDU. So a no-brainer. Picked up the phone, had the customary how are yous which I then swiftly proceeded to ask the question.

"So I heard about the promo at KDU. RM 50 for Vista Home Basic?"
"Ha? No la. It's RM 5 for Business Edition"
*Clank*

Slowly picking up my ears from the floor, I sealed the deal and asked her to book one for me.

The good news was that this promo is for DIMT students (IT School). Bad news was, I just unregistered last 2 weeks. But no biggie, got my good ol' friend (Victoria, if you're reading this, I mean it =P) to let me buy it through her since she's still there. Settled!

Why am I so interested in Vista?
I love shiny new toys. Might not be using it for real work, but I always love installing the latest Windows and just playing around with it. Anyway, it makes you remember why you're using a mac in the first place.

[UPDATE]
I managed to get another friend to let me buy it through him. So I have 2 copies waiting for me now. The Malaysian kiasu side of me is coming out... must.. suppress... it..

[UPDATE2]
Well, its all up to my friends to pick it up for me now that the copies are in KDU. Feel bad for disturbing my friends over there. Honestly, there's no rush since I don't have a computer that could run it anyway.
