50mm Lens Bought!

Big Bird and Spongebob taken with a EF 50mm f/1.8 II, click picture for the full album

Hey everyone! I just want to share some shots from my new lens, the EF 50mm f/1.8 II! I've been keeping my eye on getting one of these babies for some time now. I think my timing couldn't be more perfect with my trip to Singapore this weekend. It's my first second lens for my 400D, and so far - it's just perfick.

Every once a month, Joyce gets to take off on a weekday, and so we spend the entire day together - always hanging out, always enjoying nice food, sometimes catching a movie, sometimes shopping - it doesn't matter what we do actually, it ends great every time. And today, it ended with a wonderful time at cell and a 50mm lens... There's a reason to be grateful when you have such a supportive girl by your side. Photography is one of the things I have her unconditional support in.

For the curious, Big Bird is not actually mine. I got it today as a gift for my uncle's very belated birthday. In my head, I'm just going to give it to him this weekend when I see him and hopefully it'll look so stupid, that it'll at least make him laugh... Of course the whole reason why I chose Big Bird is because he has almost the same qualities. You know like how he's always the 'older brother' of the whole Sesame Street bunch, and how he's so wise and friendly. The only thing that they don't share is Big Bird's faggyness.

I'll be leaving for Singapore on Saturday morning and will be back on Monday. Happy Raya!

I use to watch Sesame Street all the time, Ernie and Bert look so gay now don't you think?

Beauty of the 50mm lens, really sharp if you see it at 100%

I just love the comic when I was younger

RM 320 for the lens, RM40 for the Hoya filter - not the best price, but acceptable

  4. What car you getting? Japanese? European? American?

I have to say that if you have to choose between another mac and a dslr, get the camera. You already have one mac at home =)

Oh ya, and one more thing, save enough so you can get at least a flash with it. Don't just buy the kit. That was a bad decision on my part when I got mine.

  5. well...the laptop is because I am a man on the move. LOL

I don't regret the laptop purchase.

Haven't really decided on what car, but almost certain it won't be an American car, unless it is a Cobra. LOL

But for the moment, I am liking the Audi A4.
