a frame, and some faith

The bad times in our lives is really a wonderful frame to the the good times.

I admit that I make mistakes all the time. And 2007 was one of those years. But as a person, I wish that I could have a second chance. When you taste bitter only will you be able to understand sweet I guess. Trust me I tried my best.

In somewhat of an unrelated topic, I'm in a Gideon-esque situation now. I know what must be done, but yet I'm just too caught up with my own humanity. But tonight, something caught my attention. It was during a conversation that I had no part in.

"Sometimes, you have to do God's will even if it means that his will is for you to fail"
Sounds ridiculous, but it's about Jeremiah. And when you think about it, it's true. It's not about the end result, it's about the reason why we're doing what we're doing.

And that really really caught my attention tonight.

  1. good post. Everyone has, at one point or another looked back and gone "If only...", but while you don't have yesterday anymore, you have today and the rest of your life =). no regrets. like you said, bad times allow you to appreciate good times.

  2. I think you're missing the point here. The end result does matter to God. But its whether the end result is part of His will or separate. We all know Romans 8:28 I'm sure, and from what I can gather so far it really is so. God really can turn the most terrible "failure" according to human standards into glorification to His name. Go read 1Cor 1:18-31 to see what I mean. I could just be that God has redefined what failure is :)

Yeah, glad we're on the same page. The similarities between our experiences continue to surprise me =)

To extrapolate, I said that, "the end result is not the important thing" not that "it doesn't matter to God"

Where I was coming from is that sometimes we get too caught up with determining what is success and getting there. But if you really want to live for God, then it shouldn't matter whether we achieve our definition of success or not because the success here is all about following his plan, even if it means that you don't get the kind of success you think you should be getting *phew*

Decided to take it off, not really being used =P

  5. To be honest, I'm pretty amazed at the similarities as well, though our lives have gone on different tangent haha... then again, I'm sure you've heard the saying that all we experience in life is common to all men... or sth like that =P
I agree with you that success is doing what you're supposed to be doing. The result (or what I think is a "good" result) is secondary to that.

something a speaker once said comes to mind: "a good idea may not necessarily be a God idea, but a God idea is always a good idea"
